Worktable Wednesday

It's astonishing that anything is being completed in my studio at present ... husband Bill has other ideas about what I should be doing with my time... like helping put the new roof on. YES I am a roofer by day and painter/printer by night. IF, that is, I can still lift my arms to hold a brush or even stand on my wobbly legs after a day on the pitched roof.

Still... there are shows coming, the fall is full and deadlines approach so there is no help for it but to suck it up and keep working despite the weary joints and muscles.

Shows on the horizon:

15 year anniversary show at FRAME with the lovely and fabulous Elaine Esbeck. Opening October, 11, 2012.  {that's 10/11/12 people} Announcements forthcoming.

Annual 100 GRAND show at Sullivan Goss opening First Thursday in December.

New work will be arriving at Sundance in the coming months and the possibility of something for the annual Small Images show at the local City College for October.

There is certainly plenty to be getting on with and many stamps yet to be made for the holiday crush that is also creeping up. I know, now I've gone and said it, Christmas is coming. Ho ho ho.

Don't forget to stop in and see all the new shows at Sullivan Goss. Elemental: Water, the Fall Salon, Ken Bortolazzo Equipose and Martha Erlebacher.

Dogness on a Sunday

The madness continues, or is it pure self indulgent silliness, ardor, infatuation, obsession? I haven't completely decided yet.

oh, this could be the beginning of something beautiful...

Worktable Wednesday - Printing Again

At long last, the sun. I was beginning to lament that we would be socked in fog for another 4 weeks so I high tailed it up to the mountains where I was sure to be able to expose my SUN plates so that I could start printing.

Sure enough, the second day home it's been nothing but beautiful, bright shining days. Still, I have plates to print which makes me happy. Dog prints no less. I do have more landscape images in the works but the dog obsession has not diminished one iota, so why not... dog prints!

Worktable Wednesday - computer day

Camping and our local mountains are foremost in my mind today as I sit preparing my next collection of stamps for production. I am creating a grouping of creatures from our local forest along with the human experiences of camping in our wilderness.

Working on the computer all day... not my favorite thing to be doing. Spending time dreaming about my next adventure in the pines.... makes it more pleasurable.

The prototypes will be in the shop by the end of the month and the manufactured versions by the end of July {fingers crossed!} You will know when I know. Happy trails.

Oh happy day!

What a grand surprise and start to June. LOOK what showed up on my doorstep today from the ever talented Teresa Zepeda! Such a lucky girl am I...

Trials  ©2012 Teresa Zepeda

The amazing Teresa is a printmaker. I have gushed about her before, her impeccably outrageous technique in silkscreen. This one steals my own heart as the dog looks so much like my Skye...but I can't stop staring at it because, well, it's Teresa's, super-dilly-icous, edible art. Thank you thank you thank you.
